SPE Turkey Section is a technical and social network for employees in the petroleum industry in Turkey. The Section has around 150 members and 5 student chapters. Our members are active in a wide range of professions within our industry.

SPE Turkey Section Student Paper Contest will be held during the 21st International Petroleum and Natural Gas Congres and Exhibition of Türkiye, IPETGAS, 2023. - Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering students from the universities that have SPE Turkey Student Sections are able to participate in the contest - Current students and students who graduated after the SPE Turkey 2020 Student Paper Contest will be able to participate in the competition. - The applicants have to upload an abstract to https://www.ipetgas.org/ by 30 June to be considered for the contest. - The study must be related to petroleum, natural gas, and geothermal engineering and must be written in English or Turkish. - The study must not have been previously presented at an SPE symposium or accepted for publication in a journal. - The abstract should not be more than 250 words and not less than 100 words. - Students will present their papers in English or Turkish in 15 minutes. - There will be 10 minutes for the presentation and 5 minutes for the question-answer part. - The top 3 students will be granted a monetary award as a result of scoring by the contest committee, and participation gifts will be given to all our participants.

SPE TURKEY proudly announces that, from the year 2014, a scholarship program has been initiated for the BSc students in the Petroleum and Gas Engineering Departments of Turkey. Just for this year, the scholarships will cover the six months period, January-June 2014, and will focus on the 3th and 4th year students.

The second seminar of this season was held on November 29, 2012 on TPAO Research Center. Mr. Klaas Van Gijtenbeek presented "Hydraulic Fracturing in Tight Carbonate and Shale Gas Reservoirs". There was a large attendance from Turkish Petroleum, Private Sector and Acedemy.
