He has earned his BSc and MSc from Middle East Technical University and worked for 3 years as drilling engineer and rig manager for Turkish Petroleum Oilfield Services and Pars Anatolian Drilling Solutions in onshore and offshore Turkey, Iraq, Afghanistan and Djibouti.
His interests are mainly drilling rig automation, horizontal drilling and underbalanced drilling.
Sercan Gül is currently working for The University of Texas at Austin as Graduate Research Assistant and pursuing his PHD degree in the same university. He is also a member of PMO (Chamber of Petroleum Engineers) and SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers). He is an executive board member of SPE Turkey Section since 2014.
